The caster's brains splatter all over the ground.

I stab another caster in the face, and the back of his head explodes, spattering the hunters around with blood, pieces of brain matter, and shards of bone.

Appearing out of nowhere, Raven Goddess cuts the throat of a woman in chainmail with a Sun Disc from the Church of the Sun on her chest.

A lot of players that take priest type classes are followers of the Sun God of the Church of the Sun. They are already true believers on Earth, and with the Church of the Sun being the Primacy Online version of the Church of the Resurrection, they fit right in. Not to mention, the spells and Abilities acquired from being a follower of the Sun God are stronger than the ones acquired from being a follower of the Old Gods.

With a look of incomprehension in her eyes, the Priestess falls to her knees and as her eyes go dim, she stares at her blood covered hands.

Brandishing the saw-toothed cleavers that Bone Gnawer was using, Cavallo drops onto two more of the hunters, one caster and one dressed in chainmail with a sword. After knocking them to the ground, he hacks into their necks and rips their heads halfway off.

"{Wind Dagger}"

From overhead, Serena's spell tears a huge gash in a Priests head. Like a bloody veil, a huge flap of skin from his forehead falls over his eyes.

With five of their number down and a sixth is partially disabled, the hunters break out of their stupor. Their melees rush to draw their weapons, and a couple of repeating crossbow wielders scramble backward.

*I have the crossbows.* Raven Goddess disappears.

None of the hunters make any threats. They do not say a single thing to us. They just fight. We all know that only one side will walk away from this. For them, 'dying' just means starting over from Level 1. For us, dying means a permanent game over.

Power Cleave. Sweeping through the hunters, my attack sends four more of them flying backward, like broken kites in a gale. Brutal furrows, torn through their ribs, expose their hearts and lungs. It does not matter if they are alive or dead; they are no shape to continue fighting.

"{Choking Vines}"

Bursting from the ground, thorny vines wrap around the Priest with the bloody skin veil.

Dual-wielding Bone Gnawer's swords, Cavallo tears into another couple of the hunters. They do not even last three seconds. Like Raven Goddess and myself, Cavallo's attacks are all one it, one kill. Players are nothing but paper-mache compared with monsters.

My earth spear tears through the chest of the last hunter, and glancing in Raven Goddess' direction, I see her watching me, with two corpses at her feet.

We quickly loot the corpses. Like the other hunters, these only have coins and potions.

*Any idea who they are?*

The others shake their heads, and I suppose the hunters' identity does not matter.
